Tohum, founded by designer Verda Alaton, is a jewellery brand that stands out for its bold, expressive designs, rich in symbolism. The name "Tohum" means "seed" in Turkish, reflecting the brand's emphasis on growth, individuality, and the deep connection between humans and nature. Alaton’s inspiration stems from her lifelong fascination with nature and African art, which began during her time in New York in her twenties. Working at a gallery specialising in tribal artefacts sparked her love for African culture, leading her to explore the continent and immerse herself in its diverse traditions.
Alaton is entirely self-taught, and her journey into jewellery design started with creating pieces for herself and loved ones using materials she collected on her travels. This sense of personal experimentation remains a cornerstone of Tohum, with each piece handcrafted by skilled artisans in Istanbul. The brand’s collections highlight the natural beauty of materials like gemstones and seashells, chosen instinctively by Alaton. Each piece tells a story of cultural connection, reminding wearers of the powerful link between adornment and identity.

Amanu is a brand that places mindfulness, resourcefulness, and human connection at the heart of its design philosophy. Founded by former Hollywood stylist Anita Patrickson, the brand’s origins are deeply influenced by Patrickson’s South African upbringing. Growing up on a farm among conservationists, she developed a strong appreciation for craftsmanship and the environment, which now informs every aspect of Amanu’s design process.
Amanu’s sandals are handcrafted by artisans in Nairobi and Cape Town, using responsibly sourced leather and materials from Italy. The brand’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its zero-waste approach, with all leather hides being by-products of the food industry. Patrickson’s designs are inspired by her surroundings, from the natural beauty of South Africa to the works of artists like Constantin Brâncuși and Henry Moore. The result is a collection of sandals that are not only beautiful but also serve as a tribute to the skilled artisans who make them, blending clean forms with bold, simple designs.

Lido, founded by Daria Stankiewicz in 2016, captures the essence of summer in every collection. Named after the idyllic Lido island in Venice, the brand is a tribute to the sea, sun, and the relaxed vibe of summer days. Stankiewicz’s passion for the ocean and beach culture is evident in her swimwear designs, which are crafted to provide both comfort and style, allowing wearers to move freely and enjoy their time in the water.
Produced in Northern Italy by local artisans, Lido’s collections are known for their minimal, timeless shapes and high-quality materials that stand the test of time. The brand’s colour palette draws inspiration from the vibrant landscapes of coastal destinations, with earthy tones and bold, tropical hues. Stankiewicz and her team blend references from contemporary art, design, and cinema to create swimwear that feels both modern and enduring. Looking ahead, Lido plans to explore more thematic collections based on holiday destinations, bringing a global perspective to their creative process.
